Pressure Testing & Certification
The Pressure Systems Safety Regulation 2000 legislation requires all pressurised vessels to be regularly inspected and tested. You can read the details here.
Your traditional espresso machine has a hot water boiler pressurised by steam. This boiler therefore has to be inspected and pressure tested annually by an independent competent engineer.
Think of it as the MOT for your machine. Espressotechno carries out boiler pressure testing and certification.
Some commercial insurance companies insist that their own insurance inspectors attend this event to carry out the Scheme of Examination and issue the Certificate. However, the inspector will not undertake any physical work (mechanical or electrical) necessary to access various parts of your machine. Key points
These are the important elements to remember about our boiler pressure testing and certification service:
- Obtaining the Certification is the responsibility of the owner of the machine.
- The test certificate is valid for one year only (just like a car MOT).
- A written Scheme of Examination has to accompany the Certificate, both of which are completed by only the independent testing engineer.
